While at Sierra Space, I worked on our products for the NASA VEGGIE program which performed plant growth experiments on the ISS. Work involved various mechanical and electrical assembly, as well as producing the Nomex water bladders and Mylar bellows that enclose the chambers.
I also developed process improvements for the plastic welding methods used to seal the PFA used in the water bladders, namely by developing a PID controlled system that maintained weld temperature better, and re-designing the materials used in the welding jig to use materials with more appropriate thermal conductivity.
